Usually, when I listen to a band described as 'Industrial-Glam', I find there to be a few elements of glam buried under a wall of noise. Luckily, Virginia Creepers 4 song debut 'Comfortable with the Pain' is just the opposite, incorporating thick, choppy guitars and a drum machine with a sense for melody and tempo change.
The CD kicks off with a
cover of 'Hot Child in the City', and moves on to the incredibly catchy 'Restless'.
'Mercy' is a welcome change in mood and 'Crazy Boy' ends the festivities on
a frantic note. Overall, it's an effective introduction to Virginia Creeper
and makes me more than intrigued to hear a full length CD.
