Sister - Ain't Going Home

This is the second demo from Swedish glamsters Sister and the first thing that hits you upon playing it is the huge improvement in the sound. With production duties taken on by Martin Sweet and Peter London of Crash Diet infamy, their sound has taken a massive leap forward since their first demo and they sound all the better for it.

The title track kicks the demo off and is one of the best glam songs I've heard for years and shows that their song writing has taken a big step up too. The chorus is an absolute killer and there's a great solo from guitarist Dani to boot. "Faster" shows off the strength of Cari's drumming and you won't be able to stop your feet from tapping out the rhythm along with the track, the only negative thing I can say about this track is that not long after the solo Jamie lets out a high pitched scream which just sounds completely out of place. Apart from the scream just not working it's another great song from the boys. Final track "Broken Dreams" is a ballad which is not always easy for a glam band more suited to sleazy sounds to tackle and they almost pull it off. It's a very good song but Jamie sounds like he's struggling with some of the notes.

Once again the Pretty Boy Floyd influences shine through but this is a much stronger demo and shows how much tighter the bands sound has become thanks to constant gigging. The song writing has improved dramatically and I for one can't wait to hear a full album. The tracks are freely available from their website and I strongly recommend you check them out as this is a band with a great future.
