Scritt Scrat - S/T

You have to admire the zeal of this band, pumping out albums at an impressive pace, even with members an ocean apart. Once again, the thriving threesome delivers an extremely strong album in a very short amount of time.

The title track begins the CD with Scritt Scrat's instant recognizable riffs and "ah-huh's", which sets the tone for the whole album. With a chorus of 'Don't stop believing in your dreams' and the final classic line of 'Scritt Scrat's gonna rule the world', this is only the beginning of many great tunes. Stateside sticksman, Dezi Diamond makes his lyrical debut on 4 of the album's 10 tracks, and fits in nicely with what we've grown accustomed to from the British bubblegum brothers, Kiko Rivers and Curly.

Scritt Scrat's use of background vocals is second to none, and really makes tracks like 'One and Only' and 'Lipstick Kiss' stand out as instant glam classics. Other gems include 'Cartoon Education', 'In your arms' (which was originally a bonus track on the 'Undercover' album) and 'Gimme Some More'. One would think that putting albums out at this speed would diminish the song quality, but this is simply not the case, as this self-titled CD is by far Scritt Scrat's strongest overall effort.
