01 - Kitty Magic
02 - Eat Your Make-Up
03 - Solfuk
04 - The End
Once upon a time there was an Exeter based band called Young Sensations and then they morphed into Ono Palindromes. This EP is another one that isn't what I would describe as "standard" Glitzine fare but it is very good. Beautifully crafted indie guitar with haunting keyboards with more than a passing nod to 80s new wave. Shades of Joy Division in places with some quite stark moments but always remaining very upbeat and happy.
Singer Andy Death sounds like John Lydon in places.
Ono Palindromes have already received praise from Artrocker, Radio 1 and Teletext (of all places) and it is quite easy to see why. They dish up four tracks of fresh sounding music pulling in a very eclectic set of influences and delivering a sound that is hard to pigeon hole.
Standout tracks for me are
'Kitty Magic' and 'Eat Your Make-Up' with their happy vibe and great melodies.
