Johnny Lima - Livin' Out Loud

Here we have a great new disc from west coast rocker Johnny Lima titled "Livin' Out Loud" and it certainly is perfectly titled! To cut the chase "Livin' Out Loud" is probably the best album in his nearly 13 year recording career. This is a LOUD and big record from Lima who many may be familiar with from his previous releases or even his recent production work on records from the likes of Dirty Penny and new supergroup Freakshow. Summertime is here (it is I promise!) and if you're looking for the appropriate soundtrack, then don't look any further.

The album to me seems to come across a little bit of a cross between Bon Jovi (early), Poison and Def Leppard, which is no bad thing as Johnny Lima seems to take the best qualities from each and mix them together. This is a great album and there's not a bad track amongst them, I'm impressed!

Track listing includes:
1.All I Wanna Do
3.Hate To Love You
4.I'm On Fire
5.Somebody To Love
6.Caught In The Middle
7.Gimme Some Rock So I Can Roll
8.Livin' Out Loud
9.Still Waiting For You
10.Long Way Down
11.Hard To Say Goodbye
12.'Til Love Is Gone

Over the 12 tracks you have the out and out rockers like "All I Wanna Do", "Wildflower" (which has some of the best opening lyrics I can remember!), "Livin' Out Loud" and the power ballads like "I'm On Fire" and "Still Waiting For You".

I'd recommend "Livin' Out Loud" to anyone that has an interest in Melodic rock, from bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Slaughter, Poison, LA Guns etc.

Bon Jovi may have abandoned their sound after "New Jersey", but Johnny hasn't. Thank God for that!
