Decadenze - Beyond Obsession

This CD was not what I had expected at all. The name hinted at glam/sleaze but the contents are more mainstream metal.

I struggled with the vocals on this release. They seem a little out of place for the music and possibly don't have enough power behind them. Muscially the band are very good and Decadenze have a very British metal/rock feel which doesn't really suit the vocals IMHO. In parts they remind me very much of early Iron Maiden crossed with a band with stadium rock aspirations and not quite succeeding at either. Some nice harmonic guitar parts do lift some of the tracks up but for me there are too many bands that sound like this for them to really break out.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad CD, it just doesn't really have anything to make it stand out and make it exceptional.

Standout tracks:
'Shoot Me High'
'Hit It Hard'
