Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars is considering releasing a solo album of R&B, soul and blues songs. This followed on from a jam with jazz guitar legend George Benson. Apparenly a drummer has been found and Macy Gray has been asked to song on it. Mars said, “It’s not going to be anything like Motley Crue, but a lot of different cultural beats.”

Rufus Wainwright is due to release the mega 19 disc House of Rufus box set. This beautifully packaged 19 disc box set spans Rufus’ entire career and represents the most complete collection of Rufus Wainwright recordings to date. The box contains: 6 studio albums, 2 concerts on CD, including the legendary ‘Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall’, 4 additional CDs featuring previously unreleased material plus 6 DVDs. Some of the rare gems to be featured in this fantastic release include: Demos from his personal collection, which include tracks from the tape that got him his first record deal, studio demos recorded for Want One and Want Two, a disc entitled ‘Rufus at the Movies’ made up entirely of his soundtracks including the haunting “Hallelujah” from Shrek, recordings with ‘Families and Friends’ including a brand new and achingly beautiful version of Richard Thompson’s “Down Where The Drunkards Roll” recorded with Loudon Wainwright III for this box set and also live recordings from London’s Kenwood House and sessions recorded for radio. Glam rock legend Suzi Quatro has been in the studio working on her next album with Mike Chapman. Chapman produced Suzi’s first album and also wrote her first hits, Can The Can and 48 Crash.

Following the release of Stagecoach’s AA side single, the band have now unveiled the exceptional new music video for ‘Jonah Lomu’. Kicking off the week with style, the video features the band attempting to break the Guinness world record for eating 12” pizzas in the shortest time. The attempt is currently being judged by the Guinness world records panel, although Stagecoach claim with some confidence that the record has been broken! LA based hard rockers DC4, featuring Jeff Duncan of Armored Saint and former DIO guitarist Rowan Robertson as well as bassist Matt Duncan and drummer Shawn Duncan (of Odin fame) have set Tuesday, June 7th as the start date for pre-orders of their blinding new album, Electric Ministry for North America and all other territories outside of the UK and Europe. Alice Cooper‘s new album Welcome 2 My Nightmare should be released in October. The sequel to Welcome To My Nightmare, is being produced by Bob Ezrin who was at the helm for many of Alice’s greatest moments.

Panic Cell will be playing their last ever live gig at Sonisphere on Saturday 9th July at 3pm. The tough but very amicable decision to ‘split’ was made as it’s become clear that some of the band have new exciting careers / projects which they wish to work on and develop. Founding and core members of Panic Cell have confirmed they will continue working together in a new exciting band alongside their management team Black Radar Management.
