Great News for Eddie Izzard fans! The long awaited soundtrack album by Sarah McGuinness for the Emmy nominated ‘Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story’ is available from 22nd November. Including the much in demand theme song “Mama Can You See Me Now”, the soundtrack spans five decades and reflects many of the genres of the times; 60’s radio jingle, glam-rock, disco, 80’s synth-pop and electronic. The film’s theme tune, “Mama Can You See Me Now”, is skillfully remodeled throughout the film to reflect these different genres. The most requested of these is the glam-rock style 70’s version and its sister ballad “Mama”, which begins and ends the movie as Eddie walks on stage for his final show. Produced by Mickey Petralia (Flight Of The Conchords), the entire soundtrack is written and performed by McGuinness whose recent credits include scoring Jake West’s ‘Whacked’ and Paul Hills’ ‘Secrets’. In addition, McGuinness has scored the music and created the distinctive opening sequences for Izzard’s more recent tours. Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story is a fast-paced 103-minute documentary that blends side-splitting clips from Izzard’s outrageous gigs such as Dressed to Kill and Sexie with emotionally candid moments backstage as Izzard brainstorms his latest act from scratch. This unique insight into this much loved comedian’s life, will be available on DVD from 22nd November and will also be available for download via iTunes.
