Swedish “Hellrock” band Lucien has just taken a short hybernation over the winter but has started up again – here is the latest from base camp. Singer/guitarist Greg has moved across the country but this will not be stopping the band, in fact they are now even more determined to make things work. Greg has finished his next book “Before the Phoenix Rises” (following the success of his first book “Some Zen Somewhere”) which if you send him a mail or visit his webpage I’m sure he’ll be happy to show you where to get it. The debut Lucien album is being picked up by many places and is now available in China, Taiwan, Greece, Finland, Sweden, the UK and Holland along with many other MP3 and streaming sites hosting the album. Lucien will be playing at Pretzeltown 2009, Sodertalje, Sweden this August and will maybe be making a trip over to the UK for Heathen Fire Fest in September. Their new album is currently being written. No release or preview date just yet, 6 new songs have been written along with a Duran Duran cover song

Chris Laney who’s new album “Pure” is released through Metal Heaven has been very busy setting up the release in the last few weeks and has shows planned already to follow, but it’s also been a sad time as Chris has been forced to sever his links with Randy Piper’s Animal. This has been achieved though in the most professional manner and Chris even went firstly (last month) to the RPA website to announce this… “Dear Animal Fans! I wanted you to hear it from me first… I have left Animal… It is not easy to keep a band up and running when you live on different parts of the planet. We did manage to put out two great albums within 4 years, and recorded a DVD that hopefully will see the light of day soon. My time in Animal has been fantastic! Piper, Rich, Grizzly and Koleberg are my brothers, and will always be! I will now concentrate 100% on doing my solo stuff, starting off with the release of ‘Chris Laney- Pure’ and on my work as producer at Polar Studios”

New albums in the pipeline from AOR/Metal Heaven include Stage Dolls, Fair Warning, Voices Of Rock II, David Reece, Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot) and Helix, stay tuned
