With sunburn still fading and laundry still unwashed from their stints on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, the UK’s Enter Shikari and Indiana’s Haste the Day team up in October for another round trip of the United States and Canada. The tour, which takes in a full loop of the continent over the course of six weeks, marks the end of a full 18 months of touring for Enter Shikari following the release of their second album ‘Common Dreads’. These shows will be Enter Shikari’s last US appearances before returning to the UK and starting work on their third album

It was with heavy hearts that we all first heard the saddening news about the passing of Stuart Cable, founding member of Killing For Company, former drummer of the Stereophonics and tragically missed son, father, brother and band-mate. To honour the life’s-work of this talented and giving individual, July 25th saw Stuart’s current band members from rock group, Killing For Company, release a single dedicated to his memory. New Jersey’s volatile, avant-garde rock band Thursday have entered the studio to record their sixth studio album and follow-up to 2009’s critically acclaimed release, Common Existence. The band will spend the next few months recording at Tarbox Road Studios in Fredonia, NY with Common Existence and A City by the Light Divided producer Dave Fridmann (MGMT, The Flaming Lips, Mogwai) and plan to release the new album in spring 2011.In other Thursday related news, singer Geoff Rickly recently re-activated his acclaimed side project United Nations along with members from GlassJaw and Converge to release a 7” vinyl called Nevermind The Bombings, Here’s Your Six Figures via Deathwish. He will also be singing with groundbreaking punk band Ink & Dagger this summer for a benefit show, “This Is Hardcore,” for the Maks & Zielanski family. More information here. On 5th July, Spit Like This entered the studio with legendary producer Chris Tsangarides to record their second album, “Normalityville Horror”. Nottingham based rockers Patchwork Grace have announced a UK tour and the release date for their brand new EP Play Dead.
